At :20:06 in this video Creating Geometry With VEX on Vimeo There’s a VEX function that finds the nearest point in a list. Is there something comparable in Vuo List Nodes to be able to find near points in a mesh?
To get the N points nearest to a target point, you could use
Sort Points by Distance -> Cut List.
But if you’re trying to do something like in the video — where they have a mesh with thousands of points, and they’re connecting some of the points together into lines — that would probably be better suited to a GLSL geometry shader.
Until Ability to edit GLSL shader code in Vuo Editor (scheduled for Vuo 1.3), that means implementing a node in C. As an example of a node with a vertex shader and geometry shader, here’s the source code for
