Major visual glitching when running Vuo Scenes

Steps causing the bug to occur

  1. Open Vuo
  2. Open any prebuilt scene (other than console based output)
  3. Start scene
  4. Glitch town.
  5. Profit?

When did you first notice this bug?

Downloaded 0.4.9, immediately occurs when starting scene.

Have you found a workaround?

Use a computer with a non-Radeon GPU (or, if your MacBook has multiple GPUs, switch to the non-Radeon GPU).

  • Vuo version: 0.5.0
  • macOS version: OS X 10.8

The scene actually executes properly, you can see it between the glitch frames, for example the tennis scene works, but it’s picking up other graphics data from somewhere.

We just re-tested the scene compositions on a bunch of systems, but haven’t yet been able to reproduce the glitching:

Could you try running the Vuo scene compositions immediately after a reboot, without any other apps running?  

I am experiencing this issue also. Running OS X 10.8.5, Radeon 6970M 2048MB.

OSX 10.9 - Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB / Clean Mac. Installed clean Mavericks some hours ago. Tried after reboot, whiteout any apps running. Still same.

10.7.5 – GeForce GT 650M. Cannot reproduce.

played with dedicated graphics switching in osx. still same.

OSX 10.9 - Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB/ I’m having the same problem, it looks like Quartz Viewer without the clear patch.

Having the same issues with 15" MacBook Pro Early 2011 10.8.5 AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB, although when I force into Intel 3000 things are fine again.

Thanks, everyone, for the reports of what is and isn’t working. It appears that the glitch is only happening on some systems with Radeon GPUs. We’re still trying to reproduce the problem here. More news soon.

Got the same issue…not been able to run any composition.

Here. Visual effect is as if glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) were not being called.
