@teaportation, it looks like your Vuo Editor app is corrupted. Could you try downloading it again?

If you are downloading it on one computer and then trying to run it on a different computer, make sure you transfer the ZIP file between computers — don’t try to transfer the application after it’s been unzipped. Also make sure you have at least 1 gigabyte of free space on your hard drive.

I followed your instruction to re-download and installed the vuo editor, but the app still didn’t startup. Here is the log from the console: (sorry it’s a little bit long)

10/30/13 6:44:12.527 PM Vuo Editor[353]: CoreText CopyLocalizedNameForFonts received mig IPC error (FFFFFFFFFFFFFECC) from font server
10/30/13 6:44:12.528 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.502[136]: (com.apple.fontd[173]) Job appears to have crashed: Trace/BPT trap: 5

@teaportation: Thanks. Wow, it looks like your computer’s font server is struggling. This doesn’t appear to be a Vuo-specific issue.

Could you try this?

  • In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder… and enter ~/Library (the Library folder in your user home folder)
  • Rename the Fonts folder to Fonts (disabled)
  • In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder… and enter /Library (the Library folder in the top level of your hard drive)
  • Rename the Fonts folder to Fonts (disabled)
  • Reboot
  • Try running Vuo again

If that doesn’t work, could you try running Vuo on a different computer?

On the Apple forums, a user reported a similar issue here. Unfortunately it looks like the solution was to reinstall Mac OS X.

Thank you so much! It must be the Chinese fonts that cause the problem, I’ll rule out the troubled ones later. The Vuo started up smoothly! Thank you again!

Great!
