As described in the ARToolkit Documentation, be able to overlay graphics on top of video of the real world. Line them up with markers, barcodes, or natural features.
(Vuo already has the Find Barcode in Image node, which is good for decoding barcodes and getting their position in 2D space. The proposed nodes would be for working with barcodes, markers, etc. in 3D space.)
